Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb

Tucked inside the Mehrauli Archaeological Park in South Delhi, the Jamali Kamali Mosque and Tomb was built around 1529 for Jamali, a Sufi poet and courtier attached to several Delhi sultans, who was buried there after his death in 1535 alongside a companion known as Kamali, whose identity remains debated by historians. Beyond its architecture, the site has developed a reputation among Delhi residents as one of the city's most unsettling locations after dark, with visitors describing whispered voices, sudden cold air, and a heavy, watched feeling inside the tomb chamber, phenomena locals often attribute to djinns said to inhabit the ruins of the surrounding archaeological park. The Archaeological Survey of India restricts access after sunset, a rule ghost hunters and curious visitors have long tried to work around, and stories from caretakers and nearby residents continue to circulate in Indian paranormal media.
