Why is Knock Castle (Isle of Skye) said to be haunted?

Perched above Knock Bay on the eastern shore of Sleat, Knock Castle — known in Gaelic as Caisteal Chamuis — has stood in ruin since the 18th century, its broken keep tracing back to the 1400s when Clan MacLeod of Lewis first raised it before the MacDonalds seized it during the clan wars that convulsed Skye. Locals still call it the haunt of a "Green Lady," one of the grey-green apparitions reported at several Highland strongholds, said to drift along the shattered walls at dusk. Visitors walking the coastal path from Armadale report a sudden chill near the old window arch, and fishermen once claimed her figure warned of coming storms. Whether spectre or sea mist off Knock Bay, the ruin keeps its silence about what walked its halls five centuries ago.
