Why is Moon River Brewing Company said to be haunted?
The three-story brick building at 21 West Bay Street in Savannah, Georgia, was constructed in 1821 as the City Hotel, one of the first hotels in a young river town that saw its share of yellow fever outbreaks and violence in the 19th century. When it reopened as Moon River Brewing Company in 1999, staff almost immediately began reporting activity: glasses sliding off shelves, cold hands touching customers in the cellar, and a recurring figure locals call "Toby," said to be a bartender who died on the premises decades ago. The building's paranormal reputation grew enough that it became a staple stop on Savannah's ghost-tour circuit and was featured on national television investigations in the 2000s, with investigators citing EVP recordings captured on the third floor as some of the site's most striking evidence.
