LOCATION
Why is Dudleytown, Connecticut said to be haunted?
Dudleytown is an abandoned settlement in the Dark Entry Forest of northwestern Connecticut, largely reclaimed by woodland since a land trust began reforesting the area in the mid-1920s. Little remains of the original village beyond scattered cellar holes marking where houses once stood. Rumors of ghostly activity that spread in the 1980s transformed the site into a magnet for paranormal investigators and trespassers, and the resulting vandalism eventually forced the private owners to close Dudleytown to the public entirely, leaving its "cursed ghost town" reputation intact even as the physical remains keep disappearing into the forest.
